2005 ALES HOMEBREW OPEN & AHA QUALIFIER COMPETITION

The Ale and Lager Enthusiasts of Saskatchewan welcomes you to join in the spirit of competition with us and enter this year's Homebrew Open.  This classic competition is held annually at one of Canada's top brewpubs, The Bushwakker Brewpub.

We are proud to announce that once again our beer, mead, and cider competition will also act as a qualifying site for the largest homebrew competition IN THE WORLD, The American Homebrew Association's, "National Homebrew Competition",  Which expects to draw over 4000 entries this year!

The ALES Club, along with our major sponsors, Bushwakker Brewpub, Paddockwood Brewing Supplies, The Grape Vine, Infraready, Wyeast, The American Homebrewers Association, The Wine Cellar, Strange Brew, Silver Screen, KSP Hosting, and Big Jim’s Brewing will be offering MAJOR prizes totaling over $1800.00 in value!

And, back by popular demand medals in all categories!

Also back this year is the popular New Entrant category.  So all you newbies, come and learn with us!

For those way out there brewers, ALES will be including the Extreme Category #99, EXTREME BEER.  This category is designed to test and exceed the limits of the style guidelines, the brewer’s skills, and the pallet. For the Extreme Category #99 we have only two specifications, the SG must be 1070+, and you must tell us why it's Extreme.

Our competition mirrors the ALES Club’s mission about learning and training.  We encourage entrants to enter their beer into more than one category and let some of the best judges the North America tell which style it best represents and why.  As well, you will receive loads of constructive comments to help you improve on your brewing skills.

Cost to enter is still just $6 each for the first 6 entries; each subsequent entry is one dollar. Example: 6 entries for $36, or 10 entries $40 or best yet 15 entries for $45.  This works out to only $3 per entry!

Our printed entry forms can also be obtained by contacting the ALES Club Competition Chairmen (see below).   Entries will be accepted from April 15th to April 22, 2005.

All entries must be couriered directly to:

The Bushwakker Brewpub,  2206 Dewdney Ave. Regina, SK, S4R 1H3
